The Brief

Established over 60 years ago, BAKO is a leading supplier of bakery products and ingredients servicing customers throughout the United Kingdom, with business units in Preston, Durham, London and Ireland. Specialising in the wholesale supply of bakery ingredients and finished goods, BAKO operates a multi-temperature vehicle fleet to provide a one-stop shop for bakery and food service products. The group takes pride in being owned by bakers for bakers and delivers a nationwide service and product range that make the company an important component of the bakery industry in the UK.

Campaign

Limitless PR has been working with BAKO since 2019, providing product and corporate PR support as well as working on creative campaigns such as Meet the Baker, a series of customer-focused profiles of BAKO customers throughout the UK. Specific projects have included a recent campaign around the company’s 60th anniversary, including a staff charity mission to the summit of Kilimanjaro, the launch of the Young Bakers competition, whereby winning students’ entries are developed for commercial development and sale across the country.  

Results

The 2025 combined campaign generated coverage across trade press, local newspapers, business press and radio with a total audience of over 17m, and also saw BAKO successful in winning the inaugural Supplier of the Year Award at the prestigious 2025 Baking Industry Awards, with judges praising the company’s unwavering commitment to serving the baking community, significant business growth, and strategic innovation.
